The Mindful Attitude of Trust

Thursday 14th January

Learn about the Mindful Attitude of Trust to help support your formal (meditation) and informal (day to day) practice of mindfulness. Bring this attitude into practice and navigate life with a greater degree of clarity, calm and connection.

Use the attitude to guide your formal meditation practice, or as an informal reminder throughout your day to come back to the present moment. Find ways to incorporate these mindful attitudes in discussion with your family, or those close to you and practice them in communication with others both at work and at home.

The Mindful Attitude of Trust

These simple and wonderful words from the lovely Emma Strembickyj sum up perfectly the beautiful nature of the mindful attitude of Trust.

On a physical level I step into a place where I acknowledge the systems within my systems that keep me alive.
This is trust.
I move through my asana balancing my body in positions and shapes.
This is trust.
I breathe in and out, this giver of life supporting and sustaining energy that touches every single cell in my being.
This is trust.
My mind quietens down, I move into a state of connection and consciousness.
This is trust.
I surrender everything in each moment of my practice.
This is trust.
I bow my head to you as you bow yours to mine – our hearts connect.
This is trust.
Trust is the faith in all that is truly seen and unseen.
Trust is ultimately an action of love.

Below are some resources on Trust compiled by the Happy Melon Team to be shared with you. Enjoy listening, reading and watching. Stay connected and let us know what you loved, or share your own resources with us in return!

Alan Watts on Trust

The wise and calming words of Alan Watts.

Listening to Alan Watts is by far one of our favourite and most soothing past times. Put this short video on in the background as you make your morning coffee and set yourself up for a calm and peaceful day.

Listen to Alan speak on trust here.

A.A. Milne on Trust

“What are we doing Piglet?”
“I’m going to launch you to Mars on the rocket I built.”
“Oh, Ok.”

A sweet line from one of A.A. Milne’s iconic Winnie the Pooh. There are many lessons to be learned from Milne’s writing and we think this one sums up trust, especially the importance of trust between friends, beautifully.

Brene Brown and Oprah on Trust

Brene Brown speaks to Oprah on the anatomy of trust. These two powerhouse women sit down to discuss Brene’s research around shame, vulnerability and the topic of trust.

Her message is simple; trust is built in small everyday moments, in showing up, in asking for help and in being vulnerable with others.

We’ve been so thrilled to have Monica Aurora teaching with us these past few months and are excited for her curated playlist themed around trust.

“Break yourself open, meander your way through earthy beats and find yourself in a still and receptive space, open to receive guidance from your intuition. You have all the answers. Come back to your heart and TRUST  – Monica

Daniel Cerny on Trust

Our lovely Meditation teacher shares some wise words on the mindful attitude of Trust.

“I trust and nourish that solid place inside of me, I won’t be letting go at any time for anyone. I keep coming back and grow this as my new home, trusting myself.”

Meditate with Daniel online every Friday at 5pm and alternating Saturdays at 4pm.
