Membership Terms and Conditions

Our Memberships have super flexible T&Cs.

All prepaid memberships (1 Month, 3 Month, 6 Month or 12 Month) are non-refundable.

We require one weeks advance notice in writing for any Membership cancellation.

For Membership suspensions we require notification in advance in writing (via email).

We have a minimum suspension period of one week and maximum suspension period of 3 months.

Casual Class and Pack Terms and Conditions

Our class packs are valid for 24 months.

Our casual classes and class packs are non-refundable.

Late Cancellation and No-Show Policy for Classes

CANCELLATION POLICY
As of March 1, we are updating our No Show and Late Cancellation policy and will be implementing an automated cancellation fee. This is to ensure that you and other guests have the best opportunity to attend your desired classes each week.

CLASS PACK AND CASUAL CLASS POLICY
Cancellations made more than 3 hours before class will result in no penalty.
Cancellations made less than 3 hours before class will result in a forfeit of the session.
No-Shows will result in a forfeit of the session.

MEMEBERSHIP POLICY
Cancellations made more than 3 hours before class will result in no penalty.

WEEKDAY CANCELLATIONS
Cancellations made less than 3 hours before class will result in a $10 Late Cancellation/No Show fee.

WEEKEND CANCELLATIONS
Cancellations made less than 3 hours before class will result in a $15 Late Cancellation/No Show fee.

You can early cancel your classes via our app, by email, or by phone.

We understand that sometimes late cancellations and no shows are unavoidable. Our goal is to give every guest the best possible experience and we will use discretion when applying our policy. Please email us if necessary.
To avoid accidentally being marked absent for a class, please always check-in with your teacher or a front of house staff member before every class.

We kindly ask you to arrive at the studio on time (ideally 5-10 minutes early). If you are late for class we are unable to ensure your spot will be held.

WAITLIST INFORMATION
If you are not receiving waitlist confirmation texts or emails please update your account or let us know and we can do it for you. This way you will always be notified when you come off a waitlist. Please always confirm your attendance where possible.

Late Cancellation Policy for Treatments, Events, Courses and Workshops

TREATMENTS POLICY
Cancellations made more than 24 hours before a treatment will result in no charge for the session.
Cancellations made less than 24 hours before a treatment will result in a 100% charge for the session.

EVENTS, WORKSHOPS AND COURSES POLICY
Cancellations made more than 24 hours before an event/workshop or course will result in a full refund.
Cancellations made less than 24 hours before an event/workshop or course will result in a forfeit of any payment made.

How do I book a class?

The first step is to create a Happy Melon account through our booking system Mind Body Online, either on your smart phone or via the Mind Body or Happy Melon website.

What do I bring to the studio?

We provide yoga mats and hand towels for all guests and bath towels are available to rent from reception. Wearing suitable yoga and fitness clothing is recommended, items that are stretchy and comfortable for movement.

We provide herbal teas; water, sparkling water and other drinks can be purchased from the fridges at reception.

About our studio?

We love our beautiful studio and wish to keep it as clean and fresh as possible. If something is not up to your standard please let us know so we can swiftly resolve any issue and make you feel as comfortable as possible during your time at Happy Melon.

Phones?

We believe in disconnecting to reconnect. We ask that you keep all phones in the lockers provided and on silent when in the studio. Please ask at reception for a phone charger if you require one.

Arriving for class

Please visit reception to check-in prior to each class.

We recommend you arrive 10 – 15 minutes prior to each class so you can relax in the space and enjoy a cup of herbal tea from Melbourne tea atelier, Impala and Peacock.

The meditation room is open all day and available to use at any time when it is not in use for a dedicated class. Please enter quietly as other guests might be practicing.

What classes can I take if I am pregnant?

We recommend our pre-natal pilates classes for all pregnant guests, but it is important to consult your doctor prior to practicing yoga.

Our meditation classes are suitable for pregnancy.

Our Yoga Slow classes can also be enjoyed during your 1st or 2nd trimester. Please note these classes are not specifically tailored to pregnant clients and you should speak with your health professional before attending.

Please notify the fitness instructors if you are pregnant so they can modify movements for you.

Do you have an age limit?

We welcome guests of all ages. All students under the age of 17 must be accompanied by a guardian or parent and concession passes are available.

What meditation classes do you offer?

25/45 MEDITATION

A seated meditation practice designed to connect individuals with a powerful mental clarity that exists within every person but is often masked by a busy mind. This class will help students become more mindful, connected and self aware.
From beginners to experienced meditators, this class is suitable for everyone.

RELAXATION MEDITATION

A deeply restorative lying down practice designed to calm the nervous system. You will be fully supported with the use of bolsters, blankets, cushions and eye pillows to get you feeling as comfortable and relaxed as possible. Students can expect to be guided through relaxing scans of the body, yoga nidra, breath work or simple mantras.

Whether you need to unwind from the day, or recharge the mind and body, this 45 minute class will help you switch off from the often hectic pace of life.

If I am new to meditation, which class should I attend first?

If you’re new to meditation we recommend starting with a 25min class or Relaxation Meditation before a seated 45min class.

What style of yoga do you offer?

FLOW
Vinyasa, fast paced class. The room is heated to 32 degrees

SLOW
A slower pace class suitable for beginners. The room is heated to 30 degrees

YIN
A restorative class suitable for everyone from beginners to advanced students.

Why is the yoga room heated?

The Yoga room is heated to a comfortable temperature to allow the body to lengthen and stretch safely and to also aid detoxification. We use high quality FAR Infared heating panels to provide a comfortable, even heat that will be felt across the entire room.

Infared heat rays radiate the same rays that are found in sunlight but don’t cause sunburn or any skin damage. The rays safely penetrate deep into the body, generating multiple benefits including increased blood flow, higher levels of oxygen and white blood cells, while also stimulating the production of collagen.

What styles of fitness do you provide?

Happy Melon’s small-group fitness classes are a fun, not-too-serious way to work up a sweat. With a range of circuit, boxing and strength-based classes, our trainers will challenge your limits whilst adjusting exercises to cater to individual needs. Beginning with a landing practice to still the mind, our trainers will then get you moving whilst providing options for all fitness levels and abilities. We encourage everyone to realise their body’s full potential.

Our Bathrooms

Our bathrooms are designed to feel like a beautiful home. Please make the most of the facilities but we ask that you respect other guests and keep shower times to a couple of minutes during busy periods.

Bathrooms are equipped with shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion, as well as hairdryers and hair straighteners, we also have phone chargers available to loan from reception that can be charged in each locker.

Simply choose a locker that has a key and take the key with you to your class. Please return the key to the designated locker after your class.

Please leave used towels in the baskets provided.

Etiquette

We want you to free your soles so we ask that you leave your shoes in the change rooms or in the beautiful French drawers outside the yoga room.

Our Equipment

We use Manduka Pro yoga mats from California that are cleaned by the Happy Melon team after each class for your convenience. These mats have been developed for use in a commercial setting – they have a hygienic “closed cell” surface to keep moisture and sweat from being absorbed into the mat.

For the first few classes the mats will feel slightly slippery. To reduce slipperiness please use the hand towels provided.
