Tea, Tunes and Tales: A Night of Mindfulness and Music

Thursday 6th December

Tea, Tunes and Tales: A Night of Mindfulness and Music

Join Emily Toner and special guests for an intimate night of community, connection, mindfulness and music. Cosy up on the couches at Willis St with a cup of Happy Melon tea and delectable chocolates from Citizen Cacao, and mindfully listen to three captivating singer-songwriters serenade you by candlelight with their songcraft. Connect closely with them as they share with you some of the stories behind their lyrics, and learn about what drives them on the often challenging path as storytellers and musicians.

About the Artists

Emily Toner. Emily is no stranger to Happy Melon, having sung for you during many guided meditations and even the occasional surprise savasana. Currently on a self-imposed musical sabbatical in sunny Byron Bay, Emily is back in Melbourne for one night, to reconnect with her Happy Melon community and share with you her two passions for mindfulness and music, combined into one special event.

Andy Sullivan. Solo artist, surfer and nature lover Andy Sullivan is inspired by folk, blues, reggae and influenced by his idol the late Elliot Smith. Andy’s full bodied sound comes with laid back riffs, guitar loops, foot percussion and Andy’s quintessential South coast voice. Andy’s songs contrast upbeat rhythms with lyrics full of loss, politics and the longing of a modern-day poet.

Yasin Leflef. [Yaah-sin Lef-lef] is an Australian born singer-songwriter & producer with Turkish roots. He blends sounds of neo-soul, jazz and r&b, drawing influence from D’angelo, Jordan Rakei and 30/70. Yasin Leflef recently debuted his new hook-laden single, ‘Drifting’ at Bar Open in Melbourne on the 18th of August.
