Meet The Melons | Ali

Monday 20th August

The lovely Ali, our resident barista/yogi/superstar answered all our burning questions about what inspires her, what keeps her motivated, what we’d be surprised to know and what her secret guilty please is… we think it’s a great one! Read all her answers below or stop by Willis St anytime for a chat.

Where were you born?

  • Monash hospital, Clayton.

What are you known for?

  • My eternal optimism.

Personal motto:

  • Today You are You, that is truer than true, there is no one alive that is Youer than You.

Success is:

  • Being able to do what you love each day.

Advice I would give to my 20 year old self:

  • Relax. It’s not that big a deal.

People are surprised that I am:

  • A twin.

I’m inspired by:

  • Anyone brave enough to march to the beat of their own drum and follow their dreams.

The biggest risk I have ever taken (that has paid off) is:

  • Leaving behind job security to go and travel around India and do my YTT 🙂

From my mistakes, I have learnt:

  • Say yes to everything, deal with consequences later.

My most used emoji is:

  • Peace fingers, how typical!  ✌

Wake up time:

  • 5.10am except for Sundays…then it becomes a luxurious 7.30am!

Morning ritual:

  • Tea before anything, RRR on the radio.

I’m currently reading:

  • Gut by Giulia Enders.

My guilty pleasure:

  • Listening to gospel jazz on a Sunday morning.

Coffee order:

  • Changes as frequently as my earrings, right now a soy flat white.

Juice or smoothie?:

  • Smoothie.

Binge watch:

  • Arrested Development.
